Long queues outside the stores which were selling marijuana legally

Close to two hours prior to the sale of the first lot of recreational marijuana started on this Sunday, the queue for buying it at Arbor Wellness stretched to almost halfway down that block.

A few people who turned up early called this a historic event as they wanted to be the first ones to purchase marijuana legally and said that they won’t have to be worried any longer as they can just go to a store and purchase it instead of contacting a street person for finding it. They further felt that now that it is legal, it is going to be tested and also comforting.

The sale happened at the store at 9:50 am to the person who has been a cannabis activist for very long, John Sinclair. John is a resident of Detroit and had been arrested thrice for marijuana related allegations in the decade of 1960s and had been sentenced for 10 years in prison for his giving of two joints to a cop who was undercover. The plight had at that time attracted the attention of Yoko Ono and John Lennon who had brought to attention the arrest of Sinclair at a concert in the year 1971.

Sinclair was in the Arbor as he wanted to celebrate the occasion when he now did not have to worry about searching for cannabis that he has been smoking for decades each day.

He said that this was important for everyone who has been smoking weed for years as now they can do it legally and do not have to worry about its consequences anymore.

There were 100s of people who had gathered outside the stores which were selling marijuana.
